Astrology for Monday, December 14

Today is a lollapalooza from an astrological perspective. We have a Sagittarian new moon and a solar eclipse. Solar eclipses only happen near a new moon; it is an astronomical thing. We also have the Electoral College meeting the same day.

A new moon is a time of new beginnings.

This has not been an easy year. We have could justifiably grown weary of the difficulties of the Trump dramas, the state of our planet and the deaths of so many during a deadly pandemic. Positively, the sign Sagittarius, ruled by the expansive planet Jupiter, exudes optimism and faith, inviting us to view 2020 philosophically. What truths have we learned?

But every front has a back. I always call Jupiter "the little Santa Clause" of the zodiac. Sagittarius can rely on luck and bonhomie to get through tough situations. Jupiter comes from the same root word as jovial - and the Holidays have usually been such a jovial time. The south Node in Sagittarius is very near the solar eclipse and the New Moon. The south node may draw us back to the familiar, and old habits do die hard. It may be tempting to be pulled back into celebrations as they existed in the past.

Mercury is also very close to the eclipse and the New Moon. Mercury can address the counting of electors in the Electoral College. The Eclipse heralds the shift to a different point of view governmentally as the Biden/Harris win is certified, and also the heightened role of science. Vaxxer or anti-vaxxer, the role of science has never been more important than we are looking at opportunities to scientifically eliminate transmission of the virus.
