Astrology for the week January 31 - February 4, 2022

There has been a lot of "digging into the past" energy in January - Venus and Mercury were both in retrograde motion - looking over the past, while in close proximity to Pluto in Capricorn, transformation of power particularly in the Executive Branch. Venus has gone direct, ready to reveal her secrets.

Yesterday, we saw a New Moon in Aquarius with both Sun and Moon very close to Saturn in Aquarius, the wise elder and law-giver. I think the Rule of Law is making an appearance. (Both here and in the Russian aggression in Ukraine - but that is another post).

Right on cue, the former President made an admission publicly that he wanted to overturn the election of 2020. Besides making a dog whistle with his racist remarks that white people were being treated unfairly, he threatened, just as he did on January 6, 2021, the cities where he is under investigation with intense protests (violent). Just as he did on January 6, he inferred a lot, but also admitted a lot. He has gotten himself into further legal difficulty, as the FBI is looking into his actions in Georgia, and New York's Attorney General into his conflicting valuations of his properties.

Mark Short, Pence's chief of staff, testified before the select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. There was little doubt that the riot was planned and encouraged at the highest levels of the Trump government. There were plans to seize voting machines and put fake electors in place.

Faced with subpoenas to his cronies, he vaguely waved pardons in front of the insurrectionists as bait to keep them from complying with those subpoenas if elected in 2024. He could, of course, pardoned those same people while he was President, but did not.

Establishment Republicans like George W. Bush, are making heavy donations to Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, but there are many extreme far right members of the GOP that are unwilling to take any action to alienate their base. New Moon in Aquarius and Saturn in Aquarius square the more volatile Republicans represented by Uranus in Taurus.

There was quite a bit of reaction in the press to Trump's speed at the rally. Reaction may grow as it was made on the New Moon of Aquarius (the sign of democracy). A New Moon is a beginning, not an end.

The threat to our democracy was visible on January 6, 2021, but it is not over.

Mercury goes direct on Friday, and some written and verbal communications will probably reveal more of the plot. More on Friday!
